Game Summary |
The Patriots improved to 3 - 0 in D-I East
with a dominating 12 - 0 victory over rival Tiverton. Ryan
Westmoreland picked up the win for Portsmouth, his second
victory of the season, by pitching a complete game two-hitter
while fanning 13 Tiger batters in the process. Offensively, the
Patriots banged out 15 hits, highlighted by Nick Grande's
4-for-4 day, including a triple, run scored, and three RBI's.
John Pedrotty and John Sleeper each continued their torrid
start. Pedrotty chipped in with a 3-for-5 afternoon, with two
doubles, two runs scored, and four RBI's. Sleeper added a
3-for-5, with a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI. Overall on
the day, the three, four, and five hitters for the Patriots
(Sleeper, Pedrotty, and Grande) mashed Tiverton pitching for a
combined 10-for-14, with two doubles and two triples, five runs
scored, and eight RBI's. The Patriots will return to action
tomorrow for a 10:30 AM game vs. Rogers at Bob Crudup Field. |
