Game Summary |
The Patriots completed their improbable
undefeated regular season with a 15 - 4 trouncing of Moses
Brown. Brian Shelburne, making his first career league start,
picked up the win, pitching six strong innings, scattering nine
hits and four earned runs. Offensively, the Patriots' onslaught
was paced by Ryan Westmoreland who was 3-for-5 on the day,
including a mammoth grand slam home run to dead center in the
3rd inning. He finished with two runs scored and five RBI's on
the day. John Pedrotty added two hits and a walk in five plate
appearances, including a triple, with two runs scored and two
RBI's. John Sleeper chipped in with two doubles and a single,
scoring twice and driving in two. The Patriots will open the
playoffs on Saturday June 2, at Bob Crudup Field at 3:00 PM,
taking on the winner of the game between Warwick Veterans and
East Providence. |
