The Patriots continued their winning ways with a 14 - 10 non-league win over East Greenwich at Bob Crudup Field. The game was a rematch of last year's Division II State Championship Series. The Avengers started out on fire, scoring 5 runs on 3 hits, a walk, a hit batsman, and an error in the top of the 1st inning. The Patriots answered right back, scoring 4 times in the bottom of the 1st, 7 times in the bottom of the 2nd, and 2 times in the bottom of the 3rd to take a 13 - 5 lead. The Patriots never looked back. East Greenwich threatened with 3 runs in the top of the 6th and 2 runs in the top of the 7th. However, five Patriot hurlers were able to preserve the win for the Patriots. The comeback from 5 runs down was a total team effort as all 17 Patriots appeared in the game, with 5 Patriots appearing on the mound and 11 Patriots chipping in with at least 1 hit. On the afternoon, the Pats banged out 17 hits. The Patriots return to action on Wednesday April 11, as they travel to East Providence's Pierce Memorial Field for a D-I East clash with the Townies (1-1, 1-2 overall). First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM, with Ryan Westmoreland scheduled to make his first appearance of 2007 on the mound.
